Qualifications

Star Environmental Inc. was found in April 1990 with the primary goal of providing honest and safe asbestos abatement services for Indiana customers. Todd Strader, who is President and Founder, has worked in the environmental services industry since graduating in 1987 from DePauw University with a biology degree. Prior to incorporating Star, Strader was general manager of one of Indiana’s largest asbestos abatement contractors. Recognizing that the industry was evolving, Strader founded Star to satisfy customers’ need for longevity and integrity.

After serving three years in the same firm and position that Strader vacated, Chris Zumbaugh joined Star as General Manager in 1993. Zumbaugh’s education in Architectural Engineering Technology in 1988 from Purdue University and environmental contracting experience cemented Star's foundation.

Customers run the gamut from Fortune 500 companies requiring maintenance contracts to home owners needing to remove on old furnace. The company has worked for city, state, and federal government entities, every major university in the state, and many school corporations.
